A Day in the Life

I was talking with Aaron a few weeks ago about how short-lived Jackson's time as an only child will be. I wanted to bottle this feeling up, store it away for years and open it up later to remember how sweet this time was. As much as we are looking forward to William's arrival, and will love him oh-so much, there's something about Jackson being our first born & making us parents that is so special.

So, the only way that I could think of to bottle this feeling up was to record a simple day of Jackson's life.

Although we didn't really do much of anything special on this day, the feeling has now been bottled up perfectly.

The countdown continues

Days...weeks...months...who knows.

We are SUCH planners. Probably to a point of obnoxiousness to others. I seriously feel like it's God's sense of humor that I keep babies in my belly longer than anyone (mostly me) in our family would like.

38 weeks. 2 days. 1cm dilated. 50% effaced. William has dropped.

We hope for more good news on Thursday of this week. They are able to strip my membranes (how lovely!) on Thursday, so I'm hoping this will progress this very quickly and William will be here by this weekend.

Now that just sounds crazy as I write it.

In the meantime, my parents have been so kind as to stay with us, my mother is my angel from heaven, helping me out with Jackson, helping me keep the house clean & our fridge full, and of course, having a ball of fun passing the time. Man, I'm blessed!

As we await William's arrival anxiously, we have been keeping life pretty low key. The city recently opened up a Civic Park by our home next to the library with a neat little trail. So, we decided the other evening to take a stroll. Jackson absolutely had a ball!

Actually smiling. All four of us in the pic.

We don't care that he can't stand it.

So Happy!!

Scoping out wildlife.

He was OBSESSED with this giant pink-eyed bunny.

He's getting really good with stairs, which is good for me for handling two of these little people.

Fourth of July was super low key, keeping with our tradition these last few weeks. We went to Mariner's Park for the day and had a nice BBQ at our house with my parents. Pretty sure we were both in bed by 10pm.

Dear Lord my belly could not be any bigger.

In between 4th of July & the park, we had my cousin Peter's wedding in LA, a baby celebration of William with family that was here for the wedding, a 1 year old Birthday party with dear friends, and a baby shower. I will post a few pictures that I have of some of these events hopefully soon.

God is good, and I must keep reminding myself daily. I'm not the most patient person on the planet, and I'm also not too great with anticipation of events that I have no control over. My mind tends to over-think. So this, is always His biggest test for me.

But, I do enjoy every quiet snuggle I can with my sweet Jackson, as these are the only moments that I wish time could just stand still for awhile.
